Sunday 29th July

We got up early again this morning to get over from Switzerland to Germany. The first stop we had along the way was at a station stop where they had Burger King. Danny and Flash told everyone on the bus that it closed down two months ago but seriously, as soon as you walked in the first thing you see is Burger King and that you need to pay to use the toilets. Now I remember Carla saying that the toilets in Germany are amazing, but I’ll get to that later. I had the Sicilian Burger and documented it with a photo because I thought it was actually pretty cool. It was like eating my own heritage. I thought it was probably best to use the bathrooms as I wasn’t feeling fantastic from last night. As I went to the toilet I had to pay 0.70 Euro. My first paid toilet! Ever! But as I paid there was an old German man behind me who stole ticket for a 0.50 Eruo discount for food. Like honestly what the hell old man! When I finished using the toilet though, I remembered that Carla said they cleaned themselves completely. So I watched how the toilet cleaned itself. Seriously, even the seat spun around and got cleaned. I didn't even need to line the seat with toilet paper, which I'll know for next time.
So we went to the next town of Heidelberg which unfortunately isn’t anything like the Melbourne suburb of Heidelberg. Or fortunately. Either way. There was a lot of history to the area Danny explained to us and all I could think of was, what the fuck was with the outdoor men’s urinal which was open for all to see!? Which sick person decided to just put out there a plastic thing with piss holes in it? Gina, Mel, Sofia and I went on the hunt for some ice cream but we only ended up getting some other things. I got a pretty good mango frappe.
Next we went to the town of St Goar which isn’t far from The Adler Hotel. We went to a Beer Stein shop where they sell a lot of weird and random steins, even one just for Contiki. I didn’t bother getting one because I’m not planning on taking a stein with me for 3 months around and I wouldn’t have a clue who would even use it in my family. I’m not German after all. I walked around a bit and then we ended up having dinner, which Renata met another Polish worker there. But this time we got no free shit. Right after it we went for a wine taste, which was horrible. However after trying three different types of wines we did get a ”free” shot glass.
Our accommodation was only around the corner so it was about a 10 minute drive to get there. Our race was to get the rooming list complete before we even got to the hotel. Well “hotel”. Again we had a gstring hanging from the light at the last place, this one we had guys undies and singlet in the bathroom above the mirror. All we did was just chill because in a place like this, you can’t do much else.
