Tuesday 31st July

It’s the final official day of the tour and it only means that the people I’m with I’ll probably only seem them now and that’s it. If there were a way to ensure this weren’t the case, I’d do it. But I think after 3 weeks together, I’m ready to kill some people and it’s about time this shit ended because there’s too much crap going on.
SO! We headed off to the city in the morning and went straight to a “I AMsterdam” sign. We then went to go on the canal bike tour, which only resulted in us being short about 10 of the bikes and we needed to wait almost an hour for the next lot to come by. Lucky us, we had Kiwi who only wanted to hit everything and kill whatever he could, so I ended up steering the boat/bike because I wasn’t sure he was focused. This guy is obsessed with racing and coming first (seeming as most of the bus were Aussies, they gave it to him for being a Kiwi when we were in Munich and all he could come up with was the Huka) so we thought he would be a good substitute since Justin was too ‘sick’ to come out. Again we didn’t come first because he decided to take the steering stick thing from me and crash into Joes boat, so we were third.
Straight after this we went to Anne Franks house. Which has WiFi. The intension for the WiFi is so that you can research before you enter, but I used it to Facebook. I’m glad I did it though, I’ve read great reviews and I’ve read some poor ones, and I’m glad it was pretty good. Tom was waiting in line for something like 30 or so minutes and he allowed us to jump ahead, which I wasn’t comfortable with, but we did anyway. So it was only 3 people in line who jumped ahead, sorry guys! The house had really steep steps, so I’m not sure how that passed council, but it was really interesting to see.
We left and went to find some food, when we came across a café and they did pancakes as well, so I got ham and cheese. I thought there was no way it would fill me up, but I was struggling! It was actually pretty good. We lost Renata to shopping and Alicia and I then went to the Sex Museum, when we bumped into Emma (thank God, Imagine if we hadn’t gone with someone else to a Museum with sex stuff…eh. Actually what creeps me out is that my aunty did it years ago too). So it was kind of interesting, a lot of penises and vaginas and stuff. The toilets were ‘flowers’ and that was freaky. Nothing fantastic, but for 4 Euros, that’s pretty good. Later we walked around and went for a coffee with others that we bumped into. Seriously finding a café is hard in Amsterdam. Coffee shops are different, that’s where you get your weed from. But cafes are like finding hens teeth, but we found one and the coffee was the shittest I have ever had. EVER. At least the one in Switzerland tasted like grass, this one had no taste and was 2.50.
For the night we had a tour across the canals and rivers of Amsterdam and we got 2 drinks included with this, so I settled for beer then wine (high alcohol content). So the tour was average, the views were nice, but it wasn’t must of a tour. This was followed straight by a dinner and that was pretty good I guess. When Danny spoke of the dinner in Florence, it sounded massive but it wasn’t. This sounded massive when he spoke of it, and it actually was. Maybe because we were missing one from our table because Elizabeth was running about an hour or so late. Oh and again I picked wine, we had 3 drinks included. After this we went for a pub crawl which was interesting.
The first place we went to was The Bulldog, were some people were jumping to the chance of getting weed and getting stoned ASAP. I sat and watched the karaoke and how the stoner woman sang shitty songs to us. I didn’t drink, but I did use the toilet for .50 and it wasn’t the most private of spaces. As soon as I walked out of the cubical, the lady was sitting on the other side of the room and looked at me. Yes, okay, I took a shit in your toilet. This doesn’t warrant you to look at me through the flaps you call a door to the entry of the toilets.
Next up we went to a shots bar, where we got a free shot. This is where most were letting it loose and apparently where most got fucked up. But I wasn’t intending to drink so I didn’t (expect for the free shots and the drinks others paid for, I couldn’t say no, no matter how many times I said no to them!).The next seemed to be filled with Aussies, so that wasn’t cool, but as soon as we were about to leave our Contiki trip song came on, international love. Then my song, S&M, but we had to leave at that stage, SHATTERED. But after that we went to the next place where we were given another free shot and I decided to call it a night soon. Kiwi and I just made it for the last tram, we had to back track every step we took during the pub crawl. Although I’d call it a club crawl, like Kiwi put it. He wasn’t expecting what we got. As we were waiting for the tram though, some dero was talking loud to us, asking when we’re going back to Australia and where right is. This is why I haven’t enjoyed my time in Amsterdam, there are too many high people!
